JD+A’s studio is filled with people who have conviction about their work, about design, and their connection to the wider world we all live in. Team members regularly support non-profits and other advocacy programs in the community.
Sagebrush Equine Training Center for the Handicapped (SETCH) provides equine-assited therapy to over 300 students. Their goal is to provide physical, cognitive and emotional benefits that will encourage independence, help develop life skills and improve the quality of life for handicapped people. The Grace Foundation provides critical care and rehabilitation for abused and neglected horses. Once rehabilitated, the horses participate in equine-assisted learning and therapeutic programs for children. JD+A will be offering pro bono design and other architectural services to help build barns, arenas, fencing, learning centers and more at the Grace Foundation’s new location in El Dorado Hills.
East Valley Church stages Christmas season theater programs for children, and JD+A studio members participated in 2005 by volunteering their time and creative skills to the church’s production of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” adapted from the famous children’s story by Dr. Seuss. JD+A also serves as the East Valley Church’s architect of record.
